When I started at VaynerMedia, my first account to own was Big Heart Pets, who is the parent company of basically every dog and cat food you can think of. They wanted a social channel for each brand on every available platform. So that meant lots and lots of original content was needed.
Problem
After the J.M. Smucker company acquired BHP, they wanted a more social presence. Their brands included Meow Mix, Kibbles ‘n Bits, Milk-Bone, 9Lives, Kibbles ‘n Bits, Gravy Train, Nature’s Recipe, Canine Carry Outs, Pup-Peroni, and Milo’s Kitchen.
Solution
We made the decision to make our office a dog-office. Every staff member brought in their dog daily as we wrote, photographed, designed, and published new content daily.
Execution
Between video, illustration, and speedy Photoshop work, we were able to produce daily content for each brand’s Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for years.
Results
Tons of engagement. Who doesn’t love dog and cat pictures? That’s basically what the internet was made for, right?
Plus, My dog, Baxter, and I became quite the models.
